...Title
Presentation regarding the status of water supplies in the region and the City's water conservation efforts.
Summary
As we move into the historically hot and dry summer months and an increasing demand for water, this item has been included to allow staff to provide an update about current water and lake levels in the area as well as water conservation and the City's drought contingency planning including a summary of the various watering stages and requirements for the community.
In addition, the Public Works Water Conservation team was recognized at the Texas Water Conference by the American Water Works Association as a leader in the field. The team received a Water Conservation and Reuse Award for small utilities. The award was presented at the conference for educational programs created to increase awareness of stage 3 water restrictions including a series of educational events (Nature Fest, et.al.) as well as sprinkler audits and rainwater harvesting incentives. A copy of the award application is attached.
