Discussion regarding a youth sports policy.
Summary
The purpose of this agenda item is to discuss the philosophies of the City of Pflugerville as they relate to youth sports and request direction from the Council to the Pflugerville Parks and Recreation Department so that it may formalize its specific youth sports policies and procedures. This policy applies to both youth sport programs offered by the Pflugerville Parks and Recreation Department and youth sports programs operated by partnering organizations that use property under the control of the City, whether owned or leased, and/or receives any form of financial or in-kind support from the City.
Staff wishes to discuss possible approaches and receive direction regarding a preferred approach.
Status
The youth sports policy is currently under development. Once direction is received from the City Council, staff will be able to fully develop necessary policies and procedures.
