Approving an ordinance on second reading with the caption reading: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PFLUGERVILLE, TEXAS, ANNEXING FOR FULL PURPOSES, APPROXIMATELY 159 ACRES OF LAND GENERALLY LOCATED EAST OF HEATHERWILDE BLVD., NORTH OF SH 45, AND SOUTH OF GATTIS SCHOOL ROAD, IN TRAVIS COUNTY TO INCLUDE THE GREENRIDGE SUBDIVISION PHASES 1-6; TO BE KNOWN AS THE GREENRIDGE 2010 ANNEXATION; EXTENDING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY TO INCLUDE THE LAND; BINDING THE LAND TO ALL OF THE ACTS, ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS AND REGULATIONS OF THE CITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
Summary
The purpose of this annexation is to bring the Greenridge subdivision into the City limits of Pflugerville, which will enable the City to enforce City ordinances and regulations. The annexation will become effective on December 31, 2010, at midnight.
Prior City Council Action
The three-year plan to annex the Greenridge subdivision was approved by the City Council through Resolution 1059-07-11-13-8D. Public Hearings for the annexation were held on September 4, 2008 and September 10, 2008.
Deadline for City Council Action
Approve the ordinance on first reading on November 23, 2010, to maintain the annexation schedule.
Projected Future City Council Action
Second reading of the ordinance is on December 14, 2010, as provided in the annexation schedule. On November 23, 2010 the City Council unanimously approved first reading of the ordinance to annex the Greenridge subdivision.
Fiscal Impact
As required, the annexation service plan provides that the City of Pflugerville extend police and 911 emergency services to the Greenridge Subdivision. Water and wastewater services are provided by other entities and will continue. Solid waste and recycling services have already been extended to the residents. Drainage lots will continue to be owned and maintained by the homeowners association.
