The City of Pflugerville staff solicited sealed bids for the purchase of these chemicals. Advertisements were placed in the Pflugerville Pflag for two consecutive weeks; notice of the bid was on the City's website for the duration of the bidding process; and Texas Bid System was used to engage additional vendor interest. The City received two bids for these chemicals.
Wastewater staff has checked references. Finance staff verified all information regarding insurance requirements. The City Attorney has reviewed all contract documents. The bid document and tabulation sheets are attached to this agenda item.

Fiscal Impact
The budget for wastewater treatment chemicals is included in the Wastewater Treatment Plant department in the chemical line item. The anticipated annual expenditure of $23,600.00 for this chemical is included in that budget item.
Staff Recommendation
Authorize the City Manager to execute a one year contract, with the possibility of two annual renewals, to DPC Industries, Inc. for the purchase of chlorine, a chemical used for treating wastewater, in the amount of $590.00/ton.
