Authorizing the City Manager to issue a purchase order to Crafco, Inc. for the purchase of a Crack Seal Machine in the amount of $84,575.04 utilizing the Sourcewell purchasing cooperative contract.
Summary
Crack Sealing is a roadway preservation method that is used to prevent the elements from penetrating the roadway and consequently causing roadway conditions to deteriorate. The current machine used is 13 years old and has approximately 4,000 hours of use. Given the age of the machine, the cumulative cost for repair and approximately 2,000 hours being the typical useful life of the equipment, staff identified the proper equipment to replace the current machine and budgeted appropriately during the budgeting process. This equipment is necessary to continue the crack sealing program as part of the CIty's Pavement Maintenance Program. Funding to replace the current 2007 Crack Seal machine is budgeted in the FY22 General Fund Capital Outlay.
