Summary
On Friday, July 4, celebrate Independence Day at Lake Pflugerville at the Pfirecracker Pfestival from 3 p.m. - 11 p.m. The pfestival includes live music performances on both the north and the south shores of Lake Pflugerville.
Two big changes to plan ahead for 2014: No onsite parking and the fireworks will take place on the southwest corner of the lake. Due to the relocation of the fireworks, the hike and bike trail around the lake will remain open throughout the event - even over the dam - to facilitiate movement between the north and south shores.
Without available parking at the lake, the only way to get to the Pfirecracker Pfestival is to ride the bus! - its a blast! Free shuttles run from Hendrickson and Pflugerville High Schools to the lake to transport guests to the event.
Please anticipate some delays immediately after the fireworks. With 30 buses on order running simultaneous routes, you will be able to hop a shuttle and leave after the show. Guests are encouraged to stay for awhile after the fireworks and dance to Matchmaker Band on the south shore or Jacqui Walker on the north shore.
To promote riding the bus and provide reminders about no onsite parking this year, the city has a Facebook header going up to promote Ride the Bus it's a Blast, a video which will be presented at Council, advertisements scheduled in the Pflag and Community Impact about the change and social media posts encouraging residents and guests to view the video.
