Approving a resolution adopting a Multiple Use Agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) affiliated with the FM685 and FM 1825 sidewalk improvements.
Summary
Staff is currently finalizing the design for various sidewalk improvements within the City of Pflugerville. One location for these pedestrian improvements is the northeast corner of FM 685 and FM 1825. The proposed pedestrian improvements are situated within TxDOT Right of Way. The improvements include the construction of a sidewalk and associated ramps to improve safety and connectivity at this corner.
TxDOT requires the execution of a Multiple Use Agreement (MUA) for any new facilities proposed within TxDOT right of way. Subsequently, it is a requirement of the MUA that the City Council pass a resolution adopting the MUA for the associated improvements. The MUA addresses ownership and maintenance responsibilities for the proposed improvements within TxDOT right of way.
With the execution of the MUA and construction of the improvements, the City of Pflugerville will be fiscally responsible for maintenance and operation of the proposed pedestrian improvements at the northeast corner of FM685 and FM1825. The proposed improvements are expected to be completed by Fall 2013.
