Summary
For fiscal year 2022, the U.S. Department of Justice awarded the City of Pflugerville a Project Safe Neighborhood Grant (PSN) for the purchase of 28 fixed license plate reader cameras and evidence search services to aid in the investigation of crimes committed in the City of Pflugerville and to help to act as a deterrent for future criminal activity.
Prior City Council Action
In November of 2020, City Council authorized the City to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding between Flock Group, Inc (Flock Safety) and the City of Pflugerville for access to Flock’s technology platform (the Flock Service) for investigative purposes.
In February of 2021, City Council authorized the City Manager to apply for, and accept if awarded, a Department of Justice Project Safe Neighborhood Grant for the purchase and implementation of Flock Safety cameras.
