Summary
As part of the City’s traffic signal improvements it is necessary to procure certain items in order to build the proper signal infrastructure so that the City’s traffic signal system can operate at a high level and have the capabilities required.
One of the key components of traffic signal infrastructure are switches.
Ethernet Switches are needed to make the wireless radios functional and to provide connectivity to future Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices at the intersection (such as CCTV cameras, Bluetooth & Radar devices etc.). The wireless radios and ethernet switches will help create the framework to deploy Advanced Transportation Management System (ATMS) which will be incorporated in the next fiscal year.
This is an important first step in the City establishing a superior traffic management system.
