Title
Discuss and consider action to approve the selection of MWM Design Group for the Parks Architecture Project including improvements to the Pfluger Park Restroom, Gilleland Creek Pool House & Kennith Bohls House and authorizing the City Manager to enter into negotiations regarding a scope of work and fee proposal.
 
Summary
The City of Pflugerville sent out a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to architectural firms for the preparation of preliminary designs and cost estimates for the Pfluger Park Restroom, the Gilleland Creek Pool House and the Kennith Bohls House at the end of May 2014.  Twelve (12) Statements of Qualification (SOQ) were received.
Status
City staff reviewed and scored the SOQs based on pre-established selection criteria.  The review team was made up of Mr. James Hemenes, Parks and Recreation Director; Mr. Trey Fletcher, Assistant City Manager for Economic Development; Mr. Dan Franz, City Engineer and Mr. Kyle Benedict,  Aquatics/Athletics Coordinator.  MWM Design Group was selected for this project based on their top score.

Fiscal Impact
This cost of this project will not exceed $20,000.  Funding for the design of this project is from the Parks Department fiscal year 2014 operating funds.  There is no funding for construction of these projects allocated at this time.
 
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends approval to begin negotiations.
