Title
The City of Pflugerville Police Department is a registered SafeTrade location.
Summary
The City of Pflugerville Police Department will allow and encourages residents buying and selling items through Craigslist, Facebook and other online methods to meet either inside the Pflugerville Justice Center lobby, 1611 E. Pfennig Lane, or in the parking lot.
"The Justice Center parking lot is under 24 hour video surveillance and is well lit,” Sergeant Mayo Neyland said. “With officers regularly coming in and out of the Justice Center, we are providing residents a safer location for online transaction sales. Residents can enter our public facility lobby during office hours or use the parking lot after hours for online sale exchanges or purchases. This designation encourages a safer alternative to having a stranger come to your home.”
Nationwide programs including SafeTrade Stations, Operation Safe Sale and Safe Lot are all part of a collective effort by police departments to provide residents additional security when performing online transactions. SafeTrade launched in 2015 as a public service by the Advanced Interactive Media Group, LLC, in response to thousands of transactions being initiated online and the fact that some of these sales transactions go awry.
