Presentation of the Fiscal Year 2011 Popular Annual Financial Report.
Summary
In its ongoing efforts to keep citizens and other readers informed about the City's financial condition and provide transparency in the City's financial activities, finance staff has produced a Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) for the fiscal year 2010-2011. The format is intended to be appealing to the reader and quickly and easily understood. Because of its small size and reduced cost (as compared to the full Comprehensive Annual Financial Report), it can be more widely distributed to interested citizens and others. The PAFR produced for Fiscal Year 2010 was submitted to the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and the City received the GFOA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting for that document.
Following the presentation to the City Council this evening, the PAFR will be placed on the City's website and copies will be available at City facilities. This information is also provided to new citizens when they establish utility service.
Printed copies will be available on the dais. A scanned copy is attached to this agenda item.
