The Pflugerville Police Department’s current target retrieval system in the shooting range is 21 years old and is in need of replacement, as it has far exceeded its end of life. For fiscal year 2022, the Pflugerville City Council approved budgeted funds in the amount of $105,000 for the replacement of the existing target retrieval system. Cooperative pricing was obtained from four vendors that provide target retrieval systems, and of those, the $139,071 obtained from Range Systems was $19,305 less expensive than the next closest pricing. The increased cost of goods and services over the past 12 months has resulted in an overage of $34,071 from the budgeted amount of $105,000. Range Systems holds a GSA contract for government purchasing cooperative pricing.
