Approving an agreement with DCS Engineering, Inc. for long-term professional engineering consulting services associated with capital improvements and operational issues at the City’s Membrane Water Treatment Plant and a supplemental agreement #1 for design and construction management services associated with the installation of 1,200 feet of a 12” water transmission main interconnect between the Manville Water Supply Corporation facilities on Weiss Lane to the clear well at the City’s Water Treatment Plant and authorizing the City Manager to execute the agreements.
Summary
The five-year agreement provides for engineering consulting services associated with capital improvements and operational issues at the City’s Membrane Water Treatment Plant. This agreement has been reviewed and approved as to form by the City Attorney.
Services included in the scope of work that may be requested include:
· Engineering Consultation on Plant Operations
· Regulatory Permitting
· Water Treatment Plant Planning Services and Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Development
· Design Services
· Construction Management Services
Supplemental Agreement #1
This first supplemental agreement provides for work related to the installation of 1,200 feet of a 12” water transmission main interconnect between the Manville Water Supply Corporation facilities on Weiss Lane to the clear well at the City’s Water Treatment Plant. This project is included in the 5-year Utility Capital Improvement Program.
Provisions for this connection were part of an agreement with the Manville Water Supply Corporation as stated in Resolution No. 1375-13-09-10-0157 (attached). The agreement’s terms include establishing a new wholesale water agreement that provides for the sale of water by Manville Water Supply Corporation to the City of Pflugerville in the amount of 685,000 gallons per day with the take point being the Water Treatment Plant.
