Discuss and consider action to approve an agreement with Cobb, Fendley & Associates, Inc. in the amount of $195,962 for professional engineering services associated with the Broadband Needs Evaluation and Comprehensive Broadband Master Plan project, and authorize the City Manager to execute the same.
Summary
In order to evaluate current broadband needs and provide and broadband master plan, staff requested Statements of Qualifications (SOQ's) for professional consulting firms to provide services for evaluating broadband needs within the City with the intent to identify and select a qualified firm to assist in developing a comprehensive broadband master plan to improve and expand internet connectivity throughout the community. Staff interviewed three consulting firms and are recommending Cobb, Fendley & Associates, Inc. Through verification of existing assets, industry market assessment, and community engagement, Cobb Fendley will provide design and estimated cost for improvements, evaluation of public-private partnership opportunities, and a broadband master plan.
