Title
Approving the selection of Freese and Nichols Inc. for professional engineering design services associated with the Old Austin-Hutto Road Rehabilitation project and authorizing the City Manager to enter into negotiations regarding a scope of work and fee proposal.

Summary
The City of Pflugerville solicited requests for qualifications from engineering firms to perform preliminary engineering, final design, and permitting for the Old Austin-Hutto Road Rehabilitation Project.
The project will include preliminary engineering plans, including a preliminary engineer’s opinion of most probable construction cost and alignment for rehabilitation of a 2-lane urban/suburban street section of Old Austin-Hutto Road, connecting East Pecan Street and FM 685. These documents will be for a 2-lane minor collector roadway with turn lane improvements and may include sidewalks, drainage and street lights. This project and construction documents may include a cement stabilization rehabilitation or approved alternate of Old Austin-Hutto Road. The project may also include the replacement and/or adjustment of existing utilities.

The project shall be constructed so that the proposed 2-lane urban section, turn lane improvements and cement stabilization is completed under the scope of this project. The project will originate approximately 400 linear feet off East Pecan Street and extend eastward approximately 3,896 feet, incorporate turn lane improvements at Firebush Drive, the Heritage Park entrance and connection with FM 685, as well as include drainage improvements at the low water crossing to provide mitigation of existing flooding conditions.
