Title
Approving a resolution of the city of Pflugerville amending food and health inspection fees to incorporate late payment penalties.
Summary
The Building Department in the Development Services Center administers the requirements associated with the proper operation of food establishments and public pools. The requirements are established by State law and locally adopted into the Code of Ordinances. Chapter 110 applies to Food Establishments and Chapter 150.20 applies to swimming pools, specifically public swimming pools. Inspections are administered by a contractor, Bureau Veritas, which staffs Registered Sanitarians. Fees are collected to directly offset direct, invoiced costs. Existing permit holders are requested to renew annually on a calendar year basis. The proposed late payment penalty provides an incentive for existing and renewing permit holders to render payments promptly and avoid the display of expired permits or the disruption of the permittees' operations.
