Approving a resolution adopting a Water Conservation Plan.
Summary
The City adopted a Water Conservation Plan by resolution in 2002 as required by Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations. The regulations require that the City update the Plan every five years with revised five and ten year conservation goals.
Prior City Council Action
The Water Conservation Plan was adopted in 2002 and revised in 2006. This plan is being updated and adopted at this time to coincide with the adoption of the new drought contingency ordinance. TCEQ has asked the City to coordinate the timing of the two documents to insure that they are not in conflict.
Deadline for City Council Action
Action is requested on April 12, 2011.
Projected Future City Council Action
The Water Conservation Plan will be revised every five years along with the drought contingency plan.
