Title
Authorize the City Manager to terminate the Interlocal Agreement for Nuisance Inspection Services with the Williamson County and Cities Health District.
Summary
In August of 2001 the City of Pflugerville entered into an interlocal agreement with the Williamson County and Cities Health District to assist city staff in the inspection and mitigation of nuisance conditions within the City of Pflugerville. Actions would be governed by the parameters of Chapter 92 of the Code of Ordinances dealing with health and sanitation. Mr. Blake Overmyer, the city's Building Official, and Officer Mike Wilson, the city's Code Enforcement Officer, have confirmed that this interlocal agreement has never been used. Williamson County and Cities Health District staff confirmed that their records reflect the same history of nonactivity for this interlocal. Both parties agree that this interlocal can be terminated. The Williamson County Board of Health terminated this agreement at their meeting last week.
The interlocal agreement allows either party to terminate the contract effective that last day of any month during the term of the contract by giving notice of its intent to terminate not less than thirty (30) days prior to such effective date of termination. If termination of this interlocal agreement is authorized, city staff will notify Williamson County and Cities Health District of a termination date of Monday, April 30, 2012.
