Discussion regarding resident feedback received on the Name that Street request for suggestions for FM 685 & SH 130.
Summary
From January 10 through February 10, 2014, the city of Pflugerville asked residents to Name that Street by submitting ideas for local street names for both FM 685 and SH 130. Recommendations for establishing a local street name for FM 685 from Pecan Street to SH 130 and for the SH 130 frontage road were accepted via the url: www.pflugervilletx.gov/namethatstreet. It is not uncommon for cities to name numbered state roads within their jurisdiction to highlight historical contributions, places and events in their community. Name that Street gave residents a chance to submit recommendations for two prominent Pflugerville streets. More than 200 submittals were received over the course of the month. Names not selected for FM 685 and SH 130 may be considered for future street names in the community. Information regarding the proposed street names will be provided at the Council meeting.
