Title
Discuss and consider action to approve a PCDC Community Engagement Workforce Grant, specifically, P-TECH Computer Information Technology (CIT) Cybersecurity Hardware funding not to exceed $65,000.00 which will provide key workforce development priorities: strengthening employer-education alignment.
Summary: Annually the PCDC Board and Council approve workforce development funds in the PCDC budget as allowed by Type B corporations. PfISD will partner with The STACER Group to facilitate two Industry Leadership Council (ILC) meetings. An independent facilitator will create an open forum for local employers to provide candid feedback on workforce needs, curriculum alignment, and emerging industry skills. This input will help ensure PfISD CTE programs remain responsive to regional workforce demands.
This project serves local Pflugerville and Central Texas industry partners, CTE educators, and PfISD career pathway students. It is important because establishing a structured, facilitated feedback loop ensures CTE curriculum directly reflects real-world industry demands. Connecting local employers with educators helps adapt instruction to emerging skills, strengthens the regional workforce pipeline, and drives long-term economic growth across the Pflugerville region.
