Councilmember Victor Gonzales requested that an item be placed on an upcoming agenda to allow for a presentation regarding the Capital Metro Austin Rideshare program.

In October, 2013, vRide was awarded the contract to manage and operate the Capital Metro Austin Rideshare program (http://www.capmetro.org/rideshare). A new pricing structure was implemented for the program effective 3-1-14. This means that the CapMetro Rideshare is now regional and will support vanpool groups commuting within, into, or out of the Capital Metro Austin service region. A monthly subsidy of up to $600 is provided to each group in the program. For residents in Pflugerville, an out of region subsidy of $550/month is now available for vanpool groups who commute out/into Pflugerville from/to the CapMetro Austin service region, thus saving your residents commuting cost, and reducing stress and traffic congestion for the community. It is a commute option to consider which may not have been available to Pflugerville residents in the past.
