Title
Authorizing the City Manager to approve the purchase of Traffic Signal Radios from Parker’s Choice Consulting in the amount of $198,697.00 utilizing TIPS purchasing cooperative contract.

Summary
As part of the City’s traffic signal improvements as it relates to the City's Capital Improvement Plan, it is necessary to procure certain items in order to build the proper signal infrastructure so that the City’s traffic signal system can operate at a high level and have the capabilities required. Staff is recommending utilizing the City's consultant, Parker's Choice Consulting, to procure these items as they are supplying radios for the City's AMI (Automated Metering Infrastructure) and assisting in establishing the City's communication network.

As part of City’s traffic signal improvements, one of the critical first steps is to set-up a communication system for the signals. Similar to City’s overall communication network, Wireless Radios at every signalized intersection will enable integration of signal controllers into the traffic signal communication network which will allow remote monitoring, reporting, and controlling of signal timings from a centralized location, as needed. The Public Works Department is procuring the necessary items in order for them to be installed as a next step so that communication can be established.
