Approving the purchase of construction services from Fun Abounds, Inc. for the Park Maintenance Pole Barn Project at 1849 Park in the amount of $193,428 and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.
Summary
This project is funded through the 2016 Certificate of Obligation Bond Program and is for the construction services portion of the park maintenance pole barn at 1849 Park.
This portion of the project includes the construction of a concrete slab and installation of a prefabricated 40’X60’ pole barn, enclosed on three sides. Once constructed, the pole barn will provide protection of equipment and extend the useful life due to decreased degradation from weather and u/v exposure.
The proposed location is behind the football fields, partially screened from the park users while providing easy access to the park maintenance staff.
The next phase is planned to include the installation of a fence, creating a protected and secure maintenance yard surrounding the maintenance pole barn.
This project aligns with the Council's Strategic Plan services theme by assisting the Parks and Recreation Department in engaging the community through vibrant parks and recreation and library programs and services.
Prior City Council Action
May 11, 2021 City Council approved the selection of Casa Bella Architects for professional design services.
