Title
Approving an agreement with K Friese & Associates, Inc. in the amount of $414,505 for professional engineering services associated with design, bidding, and construction administration of the Sorento/Carmel Lift Station and Force Main Project and authorizing the City Manager to execute the agreement.

Summary
This project will construct a new regional lift station to service development in the Wilbarger Creek basin.
Preparation of the final engineering construction documents shall include but not be limited to: project design, topographic surveys where required, geotechnical investigation, environmental assessment and environmental clearances, Phase I Archaeological Survey including subsurface testing and clearances through the Texas Historical Commission, identification of utility conflicts, required utility adjustments and replacements, coordination with utility companies, determination of ROW/easement acquisition, preparation of ROW/easement acquisition metes/bounds and sketch, preliminary and final engineer’s opinion of probable construction cost, project manual and any other items necessary to successfully construct this project.
This project will be designed in accordance with the City of Pflugerville’s 2011 Edition of the Uniform Development Code and May 2005 Edition of the Engineering Design Guidelines & Construction Standards. The attached agreement has been reviewed and approved as to form by the City Attorney.
Status
City staff has negotiated with K Friese & Asssociates to establish a schedule and fee for the project. K Friese & Associates, Inc. was selected as the most qualified firm for this project. The City Council approved staff to begin negotiations with K Friese & Associates, Inc. on July 9, 2013.

Fiscal Impact
Funding for the design of this project is available through existing utility bond funds. This project is included in the proposed Utility Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for fiscal year 2014.
