Awarding the construction contract for the Pfluger Farm Lane project to Chasco Constructors of Round Rock, Texas in the amount of $2,277,732.72 and authorizing City Manager to execute the contract agreement and authorizing the City Engineer to execute the Notice of Award and Notice to Proceed.
Summary
Pfluger Farm Lane construction will consist of a new 3-lane roadway, a 10' multi-use path, street lighting and utility improvements. The initial Phase of the project will construct approximately 1,450 linear feet of roadway south of Town Center Drive and approximately 6,000 linear feet of utility improvments. Construction is expected to begin May 2013 with completion projected for October 2013. The attached "Pfluger Farm Lane Tabulation of Bids" includes the base bid values in which the low bidder was Chasco Constructors, LLC. The bid received is within the estimated budget.
Status
The project was advertised for bids on April 10th, 2013 and April 17th, 2013. Four bids were received and opened on April 25th, 2013.
Deadline for City Council Action
Staff is requesting approval on May 14, 2013.
Fiscal Impact
The project funding is derived through existing funds from certificates of obligation (CO's) issued by the City in February of 2013. Per agreement, the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation (PCDC) will pay the debt service on this issuance until property taxes from the area support the payments.
