This item is supported by the infrastructure pillar of the strategic plan in maintaining infrastructure to ensure resiliency and operability at all times.
This item is to replace the air conditioning units located at the Parks and Recreation building that are both over 20 years old. While the funding for this item was being requested as a part of FY23 Facilities Maintenance Capital Outlay in anticipation of the replacement of these units, the units have reached their end of life with one unit recently becoming inoperable and the other operating at a diminished level. The current budgeted amount in Facility Capital Projects will fund this item as well as current planned Facilities Maintenance Projects.
In order to ensure that programs at the Recreation building continue, and that patrons can still take advantage of all that Parks and Recreation has to offer, temporary climate control has been installed until permanent units are received and put in place.
