Summary
The City of Pflugerville uses a variety of chemicals in water and wastewater operations. City staff solicited sealed bids for the purchase of four chemicals for a term of 3 years (36 months), with the option for two additional 12-month renewals. Advertisements were placed in the Pflugerville Pflag for two consecutive weeks; notice of the bid was on the City's website for the duration of the bidding process; and Texas Bid System was used to engage additional vendor interest. Six vendors provided pricing on one or more chemicals.
ChemRite was selected as the lowest responsible bidder on the following chemicals at the prices provided for each process and/or location:
Sodium Permanganate water treatment $ 846.54/drum
The City received up to four bids for this chemical. The bid documents and tabulation sheets are attached to this agenda item.
The City has had a successful relationship with ChemRite for several years and have been the City’s sodium permanganate supplier for the past 2 years.
