Summary
This project provides for the addition of a stand-by natural gas generator at the existing Pfennig Lane Pump Station that is sized to run two of the existing larger pumps at the site. These improvements will include installation of a new permanent stand-by generator that will be connected to the existing 80V switchboard, and associated cables/conduit.
The attached bid tabulation includes the bid values in which the low bidder was $856,419. The bid received is within the estimated budget.
Mean average for the bids was $923,139.67.
Status
The project was advertised for bids on January 20, 2016. Three (3) bids were received and opened on February 10, 2016.
Fiscal Impact
Funding for this project will come from existing utility bond funds.

Staff recommends awarding the construction contract for the Pfennig Pump Station Stand-by Natural Gas Generator project to the lowest responsible bidder, McDonald Municipal & Industrial, in the amount of $856,419.
