Title
Discuss and consider action regarding infrastructure improvements at Lake Pflugerville to support the annual fireworks event.

Summary
At their meeting on February 26, 2013, the City Council considered two options for constructing a granite path downstream of the dam at Lake Pflugerville so that the path on the dam can be closed to stage the annual fireworks event.  The cost of the alternatives range from $100,000 to $200,000 and the Council was not in support of these two options.  At the meeting, Mr. Wade stated that purchasing a simple barge to be used only for the fireworks event and then removed from the lake for a cost of approximately $40,000 might be another available option.  Ms. Kathy Ellis provided information.  Ms. Ellis was to research the simple barge and see if there would be an option to rent it for a cost of $3,000 or $4,000 a use with delivery and set up and removal included.  Staff was to bring forward the information at the next Council meeting on March 12, 2013.
