Discuss a report from the Facilities Subcommittee to include a presentation from Mr. Peter Jansen with CBRE regarding partnership opportunities for the delivery of municipal facilities.
Summary
The subcommittee met on January 29, 2019 to hear a presentation by Mr. Jansen providing an overview of the experience and range of services that CBRE can provide to attract private sector participation to the design, development and construction of public sector facilities. The process is governed by the Texas Local Government Code. Integration of this process offers flexibility, and potential for of an expedited timeframe for project delivery.
Prior City Council Action
The City Council appointed a Facilities Subcommittee on November 27, 2018 consisting of Councilmembers Jeff Marsh and Jim McDonald to:
1.) Ascertain the appropriate context and location for municipal facilities;
2.) Ascertain and vet any opportunities for shared or collaborative facilities, and public private parternerships; and
3.) Develop facilities master plan and associated capital improvement program.
