Preview of the Pflugerville Public Library Summer Reading Program special events.

Summary
The Library's Summer Reading Program kicked off June 9.   For this year's program, participants of all ages will be assigned to a color team. The end-of-summer reading party for all participants will be decorated in the color of the team that read the most hours.

In addition to encouraging everyone to spend the summer reading, the library will be offering a variety of different craft and program activities for youth, adults and families.  The programs build language and social skills and provide fun through reading activities that are age appropriate.

Events geared for adults include: adult craft nights, writers' workshops, 3D printing demo, a Schave and Reilly Comedy Show and photography workshop.
Teens can enjoy: Dungeons and Dragons, Anime manga club,  vintage game night, Smash Bros. tournament, pop trivia contest and even an 80's teen dance party.
Children's events include: Hey Lollies Brass Band, the Buffalo Soldiers, Pflugervillains & Superheroes, story times, Kids club, Tween scene, Austin Reptiles Service show and reading buddies.
Family craft nights include: bird house decoration, flower suncatcher, wind chimes, kite decoration, wooden flower pot frames, and family shield decoration.

The library is using a new wristband policy to assist with attendance at large programs.  You can pick up wristbands for your family one week prior to each event.
