Summary
A petition was filed with the Travis County Commissioner's Court for the creation of Travis County Emergency Services District No. 2A. The boundaries of the proposed District 2A are identical to the current boundaries of Travis County Emergency Services District No. 2.

A portion of the proposed district is within the City of Pflugerville city limits and extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ). The City must consent to the inclusion of this area into the Travis County ESD No. 2A in order for it to be included. A copy of the letter requesting the City's consent to the creation of the district and inclusion of the boundaries of the city limits and ETJ within the district is attached to this agenda item. A copy of the petition is also attached.

This item was discussed at the regular meeting on January 8, 2013 and action on the item was tabled until the regular meeting on January 22, 2013. This item has been scheduled for discussion at the January 22, 2013 worksession and for discussion and potential action at the January 22, 2013 regular meeting.

The City Council may retire to executive session on the item pursuant to Chapter 551.071 of the Texas Government Code for consultation with legal counsel.
