Pflugerville encourages water conservation with discounted rain barrels for sale.
Summary
The City of Pflugerville is now accepting orders at City Hall, 100 E Main Ste 100, and online at www.pflugervilletx.gov/buyrainbarrels to purchase 50 gallon rain barrels for $63. Rain barrels purchased now will be available for pickup on Friday, May 24 between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the Public Works Department Wastewater Plant at 15500 Sun Light Near Way #B. The last day for purchase is Tuesday, May 14 at noon.
Pickup is held in conjunction with the Public Works Department annual open house. Guests are encouraged to tour the wastewater plant when picking up their rain barrel on May 24. The Public Works Department will be open until 7 p.m. to allow for pickup and to accommodate open house guests. The discounted rain barrels are for sale to anyone wishing to purchase a rain barrel.
The rain barrels normally cost approximately $150 retail, but are available for a limited time thanks to a partnership between the city and Ivy rain barrels. With barrels holding up to 50 gallons, customers can collect rain water for lawn and gardening purposes.
