Summary
As the nation approaches the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the Pflugerville Remembers 9/11 Committee will host a ceremony of remembrance and patriotic unity at Pflugerville's Kuempel Stadium, 1301 W. Pecan at 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2011.
The Memorial Service includes the Presentation of the Colors, Pledge of Allegiance, Star Spangled Banner and guest speaker Captain Bryan Payne of the United States Army. Additional highlights include a theatrical appreciation "Remembrance" reading by Mayor Jeff Coleman with support from police, fire, EMS, military personnel and Pflugerville residents; and, music provided by Pflugerville Independent School District bands and choirs.
The Heritage House partners will host an event on September 4 to kick off a week of activities for those wanting to take some time to remember 9/11.
In addition to the ceremony, all businesses and residences are encouraged to fly an American Flag from September 4-11 in remembrance.
