Title
Conduct a public hearing and consider approving the resolution adopting the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) for Program Year 2016.
Summary
The CDBG program provides annual grants on a formula basis to entitled communities to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities, principally for low- and moderate-income persons. At the end of each program year entitlement communities are required to submit a Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This report is a summary of the activities completed during the program year. This CAPER describes the 2016 Program Year which began on October 1, 2016 and ended on September 30, 2017. During this program year the City completed two projects. The Youth Recreation Scholarship Program was granted to 75 children within the community to participate in the classes and programs offered by the Pflugerville Parks and Recreation Department. The second project was the completion of a new sidewalk along the north side of Pigeon Forge in the Gatlinburg Subdivision.
