Title
Authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute an amendment to the existing agreement with Halff Associates, Inc. for additional engineering design services for Heatherwilde Boulevard Roadway Phase II, which will allow for the integration of the Phase I and Phase II projects into one project. The amendment will be in the amount of $83,640.00.
Summary
The Heatherwilde Phase II roadway improvements project is currently in design. The Phase I portion was being designed by Pape-Dawson, Inc. who have agreed that the project would be better coordinated by one consultant. Following the approval of this item, Pape-Dawson, Inc. has agreed to transfer all project information to date to Halff Associates. This amendment will provide for Halff Associates to complete the design of both Phase I and Phase II and integrate them into one project. This will provide for better coordination of construction and associated traffic control, and should result in a lower overall cost to the project.
Prior City Council Action
THe original contract for Halff Associates share of the project was approved April 28, 2009.

Action is requested on February 8, 2011.

Fiscal Impact
Adequate funds are budgeted in the 2010 bond issue for this project.
