Discuss and consider action to award a construction contract for the Pfennig Lane Parking Lot and Restroom Facility project to Boretex LLC, the lowest responsible bidder of eight (8) bids received on February 11, 2016, in the amount of $267,038.85.
Summary
This project will construct a parking lot and restrooms adjacent to the Pfennig Lane Practice Facility, near the intersection of Pfennig Lane and Swenson Farm Blvd., and includes:
• 63 asphalt-paved parking spaces,
• a new sidewalk to the restroom facility,
• a new 8” wastewater line connection for the restroom,
• coordination for connection of a new 323 square foot pre-engineered restroom facility and associated grading, and paving improvements for the restroom,
• 1,350 linear feet of new 2” electrical conduit and 430 linear feet of new 4” electrical conduit,
• two concrete pads for Oncor’s equipment, and
• a 190 linear foot small diameter bore below Pfennig Lane.
The attached bid tabulation includes the bid values in which the low bidder was $267,038.85. The bid received is within the estimated budget.
Mean average for the bids was $368,731.31.
Status
The project was advertised for bids on January 27, 2016. Eight (8) bids were received and opened on February 11, 2016.
Fiscal Impact
The funding for this project is from the 2015 certificates of obligation.
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends awarding the construction contract for the Pfennig Lane Parking Lot and Restroom Facility project to the lowest responsible bidder, Boretex LLC, in the amount of $267,038.85.
