Discuss and consider action regarding the Travis County Appraisal District Board of Directors Election.

 

Summary

The election of 5 members to the Board must be conducted this fall to select the individuals who will serve in this capacity for terms beginning January 1, 2025. Two members will be appointed to serve a one-year term beginning January 1, 2025 and ending December 31, 2025. Three members will be appointed to serve a three-year term beginning January 1, 2025 and ending December 31, 2027.

 

To be eligible to serve on the Board of Directors, an individual must be a resident of Travis County and must have resided in the District for at least two years immediately preceding the date he or she takes office. An elected official may be a member of the Board; however, an employee of a taxing entity may not be a member unless they are also an elected official.

 

The names of the nominee to the Chief Appraiser in the form of a resolution must be delivered on or before October 14, 2024.
