Presentation of Government Finance Officers Association awards to the City of Pflugerville.
Summary
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has established several highly regarded professional recognition programs to encourage and assist state and local governments to improve the quality of their financial management and reporting, and to recognize their achievement. The City has applied for and received three of these awards for documents completed during the past year:
- Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the 2018 fiscal year budget
- Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2017
- Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2017.
This is the fourteenth consecutive award for the City's budget, the fourteenth consecutive award for the City's CAFR, and the eighth consecutive award for the City's PAFR.
These awards are the highest form of recognition in governmental financial reporting and budgeting. Their continued attainment reflects the commitment of the City Council and City staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental financial reporting, budgeting, and transparency. An independent panel of reviewers reviewed each document and determined that the City’s documents satisfied nationally recognized criteria for effective presentation.
All of these documents can be viewed on the city's website www.pflugervilletx.gov/finance. The PAFR is also available at City Hall and various City offices.
