Presentation of ICMA video feature on Pflugerville
Summary
Pflugerville was selected as one of 14 cities nationwide to be featured at the International City Management Association (ICMA) conference for innovation in fiscal strategy and in public/public and public/private partnerships. The five minute video produced as part of this project highlights Pflugerville's fiscal policy and ability to lower property taxes in the current economy, along with information on incentives the city has given to increase the sales tax base while increasing quality of life for residents. The video includes both a description of the Cinemark development and how it contributed to entertainment opportunities and additional restaurants in the city, and the green-industry focus for Pflugerville.
The video was featured at the ICMA conference exhibit hall in Phoenix from October 7-9, and shown throughout the conference on the conference hotel internal television feeds. Lauri Gillam and Terri Waggoner attended the conference to represent Pflugerville and discuss Pflugerville with interested parties. The video is owned by the city and will be posted on PfTV and available on the City website. Copies will be made available to the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation.
