Summary
On September 24, 2024, City Council approved the purchase of 101 East Pecan Street. The property currently has a tenant operating on-site. A lease agreement was approved on November 26, 2024 for 101 East Pecan with Delton Southern III. The agreement was terminated; however, the operators of East Pecan Cigars have requested to continue operations at 105 East Pecan.
Under the terms of the lease, the tenant may continue operations at 105 East Pecan until June 20, 2025 at their existing monthly rent of $1,200, with the option to renew month to month with a 30 day notice. During this period, all maintenance and repair responsibilities remain with the tenant for the portion of the building they are leasing. Per Section 3.14 of the City Charter, the conveyance or lease of any city land requires an ordinance.

November 12, 2024 - City Council approved an ordinance on first reading to lease 101 East Pecan to Delton Southern III.
September 24, 2024 - City Council approved the purchase of 101 East Pecan from Delton Southern not to exceed $925,000.
