Summary
The Parks and Recreation Department proposes the addition of new fencing to the Wells Point Sports Park Athletic Fields at a cost of $89,660. This project includes the removal/disposal of current fencing, which is over 20 years old and replacing with of 6’ black vinyl fencing.
These improvements will run concurrently to the Wells Point Sports Field renovations, also managed and maintained by RS3 Turf Services. The overall budget for this park improvement is $979,705 and was approved in the current 5-Year Capital Improvement Program. The remaining funds will be used for other infrastructure improvements and will be brought back to council on a separate item at a later date.
The designated vendor is Ryan Sanders Sports Turf Services (RS3) and is a BuyBoard vendor under contract #641-21. RS3 is locally-based and currently maintains athletic fields within the parks and recreation department's offerings.
This project aligns with City Council's strategic objective to foster community engagement through vibrant parks and recreation services.
