Title
Approving a resolution authorizing an Advance Funding Agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation for a fixed contribution of $10,000 associated with the East Pecan and SH 130 project, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.
Summary
This agenda item requests City Council approval of an Advance Funding Agreement (AFA) with the State of Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for a fixed contribution to the Traffic and Revenue study (E. Pecan and SH 130) project. The city will contribute a fixed amount of $10,000.00. The State will perform the Traffic and Revenue Study and prepare a report reflecting any revenue impact of the Project along the SH 45 and SH 130 elements of the Central Texas Turnpike System (CTTS). The State will be responsible for project overruns. TxDOT has approved the authorization for City to process the AFA.
This item is supported by the infrastructure pillar of the Strategic Plan. The E. Pecan at SH 130 project is funded by the 2020 Transportation Bond Program. City staff has been coordinating with the TxDOT North Austin Area Office on the project for the preparation of preliminary engineering (design schematic, right-of-way, environmental documents/public involvement), plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) in widening the existing roadway on E. Pecan Street from three to six lane roadway including up to eight lane bridge over SH 130, curb and gutter, intersection and signal improvements, street lighting, underground storm infrastructure, and shared-use paths.
Approval of the Resolution for the AFA will authorize the City Manager to execute the AFA.
