Summary
The Texas Comptroller’s Leadership Circle program recognizes local governments across Texas that are striving to meet a high standard for financial transparency online. The goal is to provide citizens with clear, consistent pictures of spending, and to share information in a user-friendly format. There are 14 criteria to be met for the Silver Award. These include publishing the following information on the city's website: the adopted budget for the current and two previous fiscal years; the annual financial report for the most recently audited fiscal year and the previous two fiscal years; current tax rates; local government contact information; contact information for elected officials; instructions and a form for a public information request; and, a financial transparency web page where users can find financial documents and any other relevant information. This is the first year the City has applied for the award.
