Summary
The City's Charter, Section 9.04(a), allows for amendments to the budget for supplemental appropriations when revenues are available. The FY19 budget was adopted with a surplus of nearly $400,000.
During the fiscal year it may be necessary to amend the approved budget to allow for expenditures and revenues that were not anticipated at the time of budget approval. Currently, the City needs to replace a small passenger bus and increase funding for the replacement mobile stage included in the FY19 budget. The City's 24-passenger bus needs extensive interior, front end, roof, and a/c repairs. The 16 year old bus has 79,000 miles and is used to transport the Seniors, Pfun Camp, and other small City groups as needed. The bus will be replaced with a similar model that includes comfortable seating for 24 to 30 passengers, a handicap lift, and updated interior space of good, durable quality. The attached summary includes additional details of the first proposed amendment to the FY19 budget.
The form for budget amendment ordinances was previously approved by the City Attorney's Office in February 2018.
