Summary
The proposed professional services agreement with Volkert Engineering Inc. (Volkert) in the amount of $80,000 will provide professional engineering services support for the CIP Engineering Departments associated with a broad range of activities for various capital improvement projects and hot spot issues such as traffic congestion. This item supports the infrastructure pillar of the Strategic Plan, to build and improve the City’s infrastructure to meet current and future needs.
The professional services contract will include: general professional engineering assistance for a wide range of projects to provide solutions on an accelerated schedule, including: plan review assistance, design criteria, codes, standards and ordinance improvements and review, assistance with planning level investigations, scoping and rough order of magnitude cost estimating for future year capital projects, and troubleshooting assistance related to hot spot traffic congestion and drainage concerns.
The work covered by this contract is to be issued by Task order authorization. Each authorization will include a scope and fee associated with the work and if related to a capital project, the costs will be attributed to that capital project, or if general in scope, to be funded from the operational budget.
