Summary
The City of Pflugerville solicited bids for this project in early June. Upon opening the bid documents, it became apparent to staff that even though a mandatory prebid meeting was held, all bidders were not responsive to one or more of the terms of the bid. Staff rejected all bids and rebid the project. Staff initiated a second mandatory prebid meeting to answer any questions and provide additional assistance to the interested bidders. The responses to the rebid for this project has resulted in staff recommending awarding the contract to the lowest responsive bidder, AKA Builders LP, in the amount of $89,000. References for AKA Builders LP have been checked by Police Department staff. The request for bid, the response from AKA Builders LP, and the bid tabulation are attached to this agenda item.

Fiscal Impact
Funding for this project was included in the fiscal year 2013 General Capital Reserve allocation in the amount of $100,000.

Authorize the City Manager to execute the contract with AKA Builders LP in the amount of $89,000 for the renovations to the animal shelter.
