Summary
National Public Works Week is a celebration of the tens of thousands of men and women in North America who provide and maintain the infrastructure and services collectively known as public works. National Public Works Week is observed each year in May to raise the public's awareness of public works issues and to increase confidence in public works employees who are dedicated to improving the quality of life for present and future generations.
This year’s theme “Stronger Together" helps maintain a community's strength by working together to provide an infrastructure of services in transportation, water, wastewater, and stormwater treatment, public buildings and spaces, emergency management and first response, and right-of-way management. Public Works provides togetherness needed for collaboration with all stakeholders in capital projects, infrastructure solutions and quality of life services.
In recognition of Public Works Week, the City has created and will display on the City's website a video that demonstrates the various activities that the City's Public Works Department is responsible for and showcase our employees that provide these essential services ensuring the City's utility, transportation, drainage, facility, and fleet infrastructure is properly constructed, operated and maintained.
