Title
Approving a professional services agreement with STV, Inc., in the amount of $699,968 to provide engineering services associated with the Weiss Lane Reclaimed Water Line project, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.
Summary
Based on the Reclaimed Water Master Plan and 5-Year Capital Improvement Plan, the Weiss Lane Reclaimed Water Line project will help convert existing number of potable water users to reclaimed water and reduce the City’s overall potable water usage. The project will convert Lake Pflugerville Park, Verona Park, and other large volume commercial water users to reclaimed water for irrigation. This project will allow the expansion of the beneficial reuse program to divert unnecessary use of potable water to effluent reuse as noted in the Aspire Pflugerville Comprehensive Plan (Chapter 6, Section 3.4). This project supports the Residential and Node Development and Business Development Pillars of the Strategic Plan.
The project includes approximately 12,000 linear feet of 10-inch reclaimed water pipeline along Weiss Lane to provide treated reclaimed water to be used by large users located along the Weiss Lane corridor. This project is also included in the City’s current application for funding through the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) funding program.
STV will provide services in support of the project design, including Project Management, Preliminary Engineering and development of a Preliminary Engineering Report, Design Phase Services, Bid Phase Services, and Special Services to support this effort including Environmental Evaluation, Subsurface Utility Engineering, Survey, and Geotechnical Engineering.
